This 30 hour hands-on course is for the beginner or for those who have some experience. Projects such as walkways and patios using paving bricks, retaining walls use of the new interlocking block and the building and repair of brick stairs will be demonstrated. The student will also learn how to build both brick and block walls with mortar and stucco finish. Safety glasses provided.

If you've ever considered becoming a beekeeper or if you're new to beekeeping but have had difficulties keeping them alive and thriving, this course is for you. Designed specifically for students who have little or no experience working with bees, but have a desire to learn and develop your beekeeping skills and techniques, this course will provide you with the foundation you need to manage your own hive. You'll learn about honey bee behavior and biology, understand the beekeeping calendar, equipment considerations, protective gear, how to order your bees, the installation process, seasonal hive management and so much more. You will learn effective beekeeping techniques so that you keep your bees healthy and thriving all year long.

The objective of this course is to refresh and enhance the practical and theoretical knowledge of cosmetologists who have completed 1000 hours but were never licensed or have let their license lapse. Students will revisit key areas such as haircutting, styling, coloring, nail and skin care. The focus will be on improving proficiency efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Upon completion of this 60 course students will have the confidence and knowledge to obtain licensure and test prep.
The course will be 60 hours broken down as follows:
20 hours - chemical services
20 hours- haircutting
10 hours - nail and skin care
10 hours- theory and mock testing
Students must supply their own sheers. All other required supplies will be provided.

Designed for those with some sourdough experience, this class dives into techniques like high-hydration doughs, cold fermentation, and scoring for function and style. You’ll work through the full process from starter management to final bake, exploring how time, temperature, steam and flour blends affect flavor and texture. Hands-on practice and guidance will help refine your instincts and elevate your sourdough skills. You’ll leave with dough ready to bake, advanced tools and a deeper understanding of the artisan sourdough craft.

Students will learn how to use their camera's manual settings rather than rely on "auto" mode. Emphasis will be placed on image composition. Photo editing essentials such as retouching, color correction, cropping, and converting images to black and white will also be presented.
Digital SLR camera (or high-end point and shoot camera with manual settings) and two 1GB memory cards required.

At the end of this class, you will have the opportunity to enter the workforce as electrical apprentices for employment with electrical contractors and system contractors, while working towards the goal of licensure.

At the end of this class, you will have the opportunity to enter the workforce as plumbing apprentices for employment with plumbing contractors and system contractors, while working towards the goal of licensure.

Registration will open in March 2026! Programs run June 2026 - August 2026 in person at Whittier Tech on Mondays 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM - Thursdays 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. All programs are 200 hours in length. Please note completion of the online inquiry does not guarantee a spot in the training program. You will receive an email with the next application steps. If you do not respond to the email, you will not be considered for the training program.
Candidates must be:
-18 years or older
-Not enrolled in high school
-MA resident
-Considered unemployed or underemployed
-Eligible to work in the U.S.
-Intention of seeking full time employment in training area upon completion of program
