Electrical Journeyman Trade Extension License Program

This program will prepare students for the state licensing exam by meeting the requirements of 600 theory hours. This sequenced program will consist of 8 semesters of 75 hours each, and each level will require 2 semesters each. Prerequisite: Present employment as an electrical apprentice.

Each 2-semester course will require a current electrical code book. All classes will meet on Monday and Wednesday from 6:00-9:00pm

Electrical Journeyman I A

75 HOURS - $525 plus registration fee -  Class Begins Monday September 11th
Prerequisite: Present employment as an Electrical Apprentice

Topics include the following: safety, theory, testing and test equipment, blueprint reading, commercial, industrial and residential wiring.

Monday and Wednesday 6:00-9:00PM

 

Electrical Journeyman II A

75 HOURS - $525 plus registration fee - Class Begins Monday September 11th
Prerequisite: Present employment as an electrical apprentice. Requirement: Must have completed Electrical Journeyman I.

Topics include the following: A/C theory, motor theory, grounding, electrical service installation, relays and conductor termination.

Electrical Journeyman III A

75 HOURS - $525 plus registration fee - Class Begins Monday September 11th
Prerequisite: Present employment as an Electrical Apprentice. Requirement: Must have completed Electrical Journeyman II .

Topics include the following:  branch and feeder circuits, conductor selection, motor calculations, raceways, motor control and hazardous locations.

Electrical Journeyman IV A

75 HOURS - $525 plus registration fee - Class Begins Monday September 11th
Prerequisite: Present employment as an Electrical Apprentice. Requirement: Must have completed Electrical Journeyman III.

Topics include: load calculations, standby and emergency systems, electronic theory, transformers, HVAC controls, welding apparatus, high voltage and testing.

Electrical Journeyman IV Extension

$140 plus registration fee - Class Begins Monday September 11th
This course is designed for students who have already completed their 8th and/or final semester of Electrical Journeyman IV, and are within 20 hours of completing the required 600 hours for the licensing exam.

Note: Written approval of the Director is required. Students MUST have 20 or less hours to complete their program for licensing. Class will run simultaneously with the other Electrical Journeyman classes.

Electrical Master's Course  

75 HOURS - $525.00 plus registration fee - Class Begins Monday September 11th
Prerequisite: Must Have Massachusetts Electrical Journeyman License.

This is a 75 hour course of the 150 hours required for the Massachusetts Master Electrician Examination. The course will cover appropriate math, code and theory related to the Masters License.
